Homer Theatre

Lynette and Jamie Sutton purchased the Homer Theatre in 2002. With the continued, unwavering support of the community and a talented, dedicated staff, the Homer Theatre has remained a beloved local business throughout the years. In March of 2020, Jamie and Lynette’s daughter, Ali, took over the running of the theatre. She has guided the theatre through the pandemic and out the other side, stronger and more resilient than ever.

We are proud to be open, showing the latest movies and serving the best popcorn in all of Alaska. We pride ourselves on giving back to the community . Throughout the year, we have numerous fundraisers for local non-profits. We started also the now well-regarded (and lots of fun) Homer Documentary Film Festival in 2003 with 4 movies. We have now expanded the line-up to the “8 Best Docs in the World” and we have shown the eventual Oscar winner every year. It is fun being in the ‘Movie Business’ and we are lucky to have a passionate and skilled manager and staff who make it a treat to come to the best flat screen within 225 miles. “See you at the Movies.”
